09 Jun Meet our Members – Dr. Yang Liu!
Dr. Yang Liu is a PhD Professor in Physical and Health Education at Shanghai University of Sport in Shanghai, China, where he teaches and supervises undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students in Physical Education. He is also a senior researcher at the Shanghai Research Center for Physical Fitness and Health of Children and Adolescents, focusing on physical activity, fitness, and health surveillance among school-aged students.
After doctoral and post-doctoral training in Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, Dr. Liu’s research has focused on physical activity, physical fitness, fundamental movement skills, and physical literacy among Chinese youth. His team has contributed to AHKGA Global Matrix 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and the upcoming 5.0, where he is leading China’s Report Card work.
Outside of work, Dr. Liu enjoys football, racket sports, cycling, and jogging, and hopes to continue promoting lifelong physical activity among young people.
