
16 Sep AHKGA Members present at the Paediatric Work Physiology Conference
Congratulations to AHKGA members who presented at the 34th Paediatric Work Physiology Conference, which took place from September 9-12, 2025 in Peurunka, Finland, organised by the University of Jyväskylä. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate and celebrate the best paediatric-focused research. There were two conference themes: 1. Children, exercise, and planetary health, and 2. Long-term athletic development in a changing world. AHKGA Executive Board members presented several diverse topics, including:
Dr. Tujia Tammelin (Finland) presented several works as senior scientist, including (among others):
- Gender disparities in physical activity: Exploring gender differences in Finnish early childhood and care settings
- Development of National Physical Activity Monitoring System for 4-6 years-old Children in Finland
- Psychometric properties of the Little Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (LDCDQ) in Finnish
Dr. Shawnda Morrison (Slovenia) spoke on two special sessions (Children, Exercise, and Planetary Health Theme Symposium, and the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance (AHKGA) Session):
- How physical fitness can be a climate change countermeasure
- On monitoring School indicator trends from the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance Global Matrices 1.0-4.0
Dr. Mark Tremblay (Canada) spoke chaired the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance (AHKGA) Session), and presented on:
- An Introduction to Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance Global Matrix 1.0-5.0
- ParticipACTION Report Card on physical activity for children and youth in Canada: Impact 2015–2024
