13 Mar AHKGA and FitBack develop a long-term partnership
We are pleased to announce that the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FitBack, the European Network for the Support of Development of Systems for Monitoring Physical Fitness of Children and Adolescents. The MOU came into effect on March 1, 2023, and will be reviewed every 2 years, and renewed/terminated at that time.
The scope of the partnership outlined in the MOU relates to AHKGA agreeing to share information about FitBack on its website, support the recruitment of international collaborators and, more broadly, to the overlapping key goals of both partners; to support physically active lifestyles in children through leadership, knowledge translation and mobilization, capacity building, and advocacy. Collaboration between FitBack and AHKGA should improve the AHKGA Report Cards in future, e.g. by extending the grading of fitness to more countries; by improving the grading of AHKGA Report Card indicators such as physical fitness. The collaboration should improve the work of FitBack in future, e.g. by widening and deepening the global discussions on fitness and the measurement of fitness in children and adolescents. Collaboration between the two organisations should also encourage other joint activities such as grant applications, improving methodology for fitness surveillance, and data analyses/publications.
