23 Sep Dr. Eun-Young Lee Presents at ICOMES 2026!

Congratulations to Dr. Eun-Young Lee, AHKGA Global Matrix 5.0 Report Card co-leader and member of the AHKGA Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, on their presentation at the 2026 International Congress on Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome (ICOMES) in Seoul, Republic of Korea!

Dr. Lee presented “Moving Toward Healthier Futures: Physical Activity and Pediatric Obesity in East Asia from the Global Matrix initiative,” highlighting findings from the Global Matrix 4.0 and examining the gap between supportive physical activity systems and everyday movement across East Asia.

Their presentation explored how air pollution, extreme heat, and other climate-related challenges may further affect opportunities for children to be physically active and support healthy development. They also highlighted the potential for active transportation to provide health and climate co-benefits, and emphasized the importance of translating supportive policies and infrastructure into accessible, everyday opportunities for movement.
