Denmark Released their 2026 Report Card!

Congratulations to the Denmark Report Card team on the release of their 2026 Report Card! The Report Card evaluated Global Matrix 5.0 indicators related to physical activity and health among Danish children and adolescents. Overall Physical Activity was graded a C-, with over 40% of children and adolescents meeting physical activity recommendations for the first time since the report’s inception in 2017. However, Sedentary Behavior received an F, highlighting persistently high levels of screen time among young people.

The Report Card paints a mixed picture, with low physical activity levels and increasing sedentary behavior despite relatively strong social, physical, and policy environments that support active lifestyles through opportunities such as organized sports and active transportation. It also includes, for the first time, a separate assessment of children and youth with chronic illnesses or disabilities, revealing consistently lower grades across several indicators and underscoring important inequities in access to physical activity opportunities.
