The AHKGA is looking to appoint a President-Elect for a one-year term. The AHKGA President-Elect serves in a transitional leadership role, shadowing the AHKGA President to gain knowledge of the AHKGA’s governance, operations, and strategic priorities in preparation for assuming the AHKGA President role at the conclusion of the one-year term.

The President-Elect will serve as a voting member of the AHKGA Board of Directors, the Partnership & Fundraising, Nominations, and Executive Committees. The President-Elect will participate in bi-monthly Board meetings held via Zoom and contribute to the planning and advancement of AHKGA’s initiatives, including the Global Matrix. Candidates should have a strong interest in advancing child and adolescent physical activity and health, the capacity to oversee organizational and fiscal responsibilities, working proficiency in English, and the ability to actively engage in the AHKGA’s six-year leadership pathway (President-Elect: 1 year; President: 4 years; Past President: 1 year). Please note that this is a volunteer/unpaid position.

Interested candidates should submit their current CV and a Letter of Intent via email to the AHKGA administrative support (info@activehealthykids.org) no later than February 28, 2026. In the Letter of Intent, applicants should:

  • Indicate their name, affiliation(s), current country of residence, and contact email.
  • Explicitly explain why they think they are well-suited for the President-Elect role.
  • Describe their prior experience with AHKGA-related activities (e.g., Board and/or Committee experience, Global Matrices, Report Cards).
  • Outline their vision for advancing AHKGA’s mission.
  • Provide contact information for 5 supportive professional references. At least three of the supporters must be current or former Report Card Leaders.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview with the AHKGA Nominations Committee and/or the Board of Directors.
